A: Boys and Girl divisions: U6 (4-6yr/K), U8 (7&8yr/grade 1-2), U10 (9&10yr/grade 3-4),
U12 (11&12yr/grade 5-6), U14 (13&14yr/grade 7-8)
Q: What division will my child play?
A: Division is based on the player’s age as of September 1st, 2021
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $250 for Parkland residents & non-residents. US Lacrosse Membership ($30) is Required prior to registration. Non-residents must also purchase a “Player Card” from the City of Parkland ($175/family). Registration includes a uniform, coach’s shirts, team equipment, League registration, insurance, the end of season party, and the cost of game-day officials.

Q: Will we be required to Travel?
A: YES. Youth Rec Lacrosse is not an “in-house” league. Teams will be formed to compete against teams from other communities (for example Boca Raton, Delray, Weston, Ft. Lauderdale).
Q: Does my child need to attend ratings?
A: NO. If there are enough participants to form more than one team, the league coaches will attempt to divide the teams evenly.
Q: Can I request a specific coach?
A: Yes, however, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate all requests.
Q: When will I know who our coach is?
A: Teams will be formed in early February. Announcements will be made via email, website, & Social Media.
Q: What Equipment is required (Purchased Separately)?
A: Boys: Helmet, Shoulder pads, Arm pads, Gloves, Protective Cup, Mouth guard, & Stick.
Girls: Goggles, Mouth guard, & Stick
*Football and/or Lacrosse Cleats are recommended for all divisions.
Q: When/where is practice?
A: Pre-season practice begins in mid January. All pre-season practices will be scheduled at Terramar Park in Parkland with Season practices located at Pine Trails Park in Parkland.
Q: When/where are games?
A: All games will be on Saturdays, beginning in mid-February and finish around the end of April. Home games will be played at Pine Trails Park, Parkland.
Q: When will I get a game schedule?
A: A schedule will be posted to the league website and on social media asap prior to the first game.
Q: When will I get a uniform?
A: Uniforms will be distributed by the league/coaches during pre-season practices before 1st games begin.
Q: Will there be a picture day?
A: Picture Day is set for March 7th (subject to change)
Q: How many games are there?
A: There are generally 10 games per-season, 5 away games and 5 home games (Subject to change)
Q: Will there be playoffs?
A: SFYLL (South Florida Youth Lacrosse League) does not hold a playoff tournament. The focus of the Rec Season is on introducing young players to the game with a focus on skill building and teamwork.
Q: Can I volunteer to coach?
A: YES! We are always looking for dedicated volunteers that are willing to coach. Please reach out to a league board member or via social media if you are interested.
